Our Founders - Nuestros fundadores

Phillip (1955-2008), was the first President of our Ministry. He was born in Dayton, Tennessee to godly Christian parents. He received Christ when he was four years old. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute.

Maritza Isabel, current President, was born in San José, Costa Rica. Her father died when she was nine years old. Her mother had to work hard to provide for both of them.

Although she was rebellious and promiscuous as a preteen, while watching a Christian TV program, she prayed to receive Christ. However, without proper godly guidance, she joined a cult. Then in 1982, God, in His grace and mercy, led her to true believers who prayed for her and motivated her in her Christian walk, and she left the cult.

They met in 1984 at the International Baptist Church in San José, Costa Rica. (Maritza was going to college and working as a Personnel Director at the same time). Phil was studying Spanish at the Language Institute in order to later continue his flight plan to Colombia as a missionary pilot with Wycliffe Bible Translators. But Phil had a re-route and landed so that Maritza could board his life, and on 1985 they got married. The pilot got his wings of singleness clipped permanently. They served as missionaries in Colombia, South America for a number of years, where the Lord blessed them with a son, Jonathan David.

Phil was a member of Bellevue Church in Cordova, Tennessee from 1974 until 2006, and Maritza from 1985 until 2006. Today she attends Highpoint Church.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31, describes her testimony perfectly:

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."

Her ministerial verse is Revelation 3:7-8:

" ... These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name."

Her life verse Philipians 3:13-14:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
